About Us

About Our Organization

The Oak Harbor Yacht Club Foundation is an official program and operational domain managed by the Oak Harbor Yacht Club (OHYC). We operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Official Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide instruction and educational programs in sailing, seamanship, navigation, and marine safety for youth and adults, while promoting water safety awareness, environmental stewardship, and conservation of marine ecosystems in the Puget Sound and Salish Seas.

What We Do

We expand public access to maritime education and recreation through targeted community outreach. Our programs enable individuals of all backgrounds to experience, appreciate, and preserve our shared maritime heritage and the local marine environment.

Scholarships & Community Gifts

We provide dedicated scholarships and donations that specifically aid and support families of first responders and military members. Additionally, we actively fund and collaborate with fellow educational foundations and nonprofit organizations that safeguard the Salish Seas.
